常用于基于MTT檢測方法的細胞活力、細胞增殖或細胞毒性檢測。因為MTT具有正電荷,它可以穿過細胞膜并被線粒體還原形成紫色甲臜染料。溶解MTT甲臜染料需要使用有機溶劑。脫氫酶的檢測,生化研究中酶活力的測定,測定NADH2、NADPH2和心肌黃酶(Diaphorase)。

外觀: 淡黃色或黃色粉末或橙黃色粉末
溶解性: 微溶于甲醇中,但難溶于水或乙醇中。用醚、丙酮或乙酸乙酯也不能將其完全溶解
